the car accident on monday morning gave me a huge change of view on life.

it's not until when my car was spinning 360 degrees on hwy401 that i realize how fragile we humans are. despite my dad's near-fatal heart attack four years ago and dad's fatal heart attack little over one year ago, i still do not treasure life that dearly. even though we are just temporary visitors of this world, not everyone of us get to go to that permanent home of ours to stay with our heavenly father. life is very fragile and unpredictable, if we do not take every opportunity to spread the gospel to non-Christians, we don't know if we'll get a second chance with the same person or not.

after this accident, there are several other things that i'm really thankful in addition to God saving my life numerous times:

1. God has provided me such a loving, caring, and considerate gf!! i was extremely moved to seeing her when she came to see me right after the accident and spent the time with me while i was waiting for my uncle to pick me up! i was even more moved to hear what she had originally planned for me when i get there (cooked breakfast for me and several other things). and i was super duper touched to know of her intended plan for chinese new year!!

2. a very supportive mom. even while i'm still sorting out things with OPP and towing company, my mom already told me not to worry about the car and that she'll help pay for a new car!

3. because of the car accident, i do not need to go to las vegas for a short while (1 week?!?) despite that i am the team lead for that project. also from the accident, i get to take a few days off (2 days to be exact). that was a much needed rest because the last day off i had was on jan/4.

4. while waiting for my uncle, i cried for the first time in several months. that was a much needed outburst. i was extremely frustrated in las vegas the past two weeks because whatever i do there, i cannot improve the system at all.

GOD SAVED MY LIFE NUMEROUS TIMES TODAY!!

a few of you may know, this morning i got into a huge car accident and my car's probably total loss (or at least would require $10k+ to fix)

God's first two angels:
as i was driving on the fast lane on hwy401, suddenly a car cut in front of me and i could not slow down in time so i had to turn to the next lane to avoid the car. consequently that caused my car to lose control and spun 360 degrees on hwy401. God's first angel is saving me from hitting other cars on the highway while my car was spinning. God's second angel prevented me from spinning into the concrete highway divider while i was moving at 80+ kph. my car rear-ended into the concrete when i was about 5-10 kph.

God's third angel:
my car was stopped rear-ended into the concrete and is perpendicular to the highway. the front part of my car obstruded into the fast lane slightly. therefore i try to manuver my car to sit in the shoulder parallel to the traffic. as i try to move my car, a car coming from the fast lane ran (at minimum of 80 kph) into the passenger side of my car causing my car to spin another 180 degrees now with the front of the car stuck on the concrete. i lost consciousness during the time my car went the 180 degrees. the next thing i knew was that the inside of my car was all messed up. God's third angel protected me from such a violent impact!

God's fourth angel:
a gm pickup truck was trying to avoid another car and went onto the shoulder...the resulting move caused that car to go straight at me (the driver side). God's miracle turned that gm truck that it hit my rear bumper rather than right at me when i was unconscious.

God's fifth angel:
i got out of the whole accident totally un-harmed, with only a sore left arm.

guess what?!?! i'm leaving toronto again....>_<~

heading over to vegas tonight hopefully for the final business trip there.

the past weekend was exceptional! i had a really great time in waterloo on saturday despite that i had already worked in the morning before heading over to waterloo.

even though it was just a short stay in waterloo, but we (Mary and i) had some private time to talk and pray about our future!

a funny incident happened during the 16 people dinner at a Thai-Viet restaurant on sunday night. Martin's car (with Ginger's family) got there little bit later. but while waiting for everyone to get to the restaurant, we watched the waitress moving the tables around for us to sit in a loooooong table. after all the setups are done, everyone decides to sit at the other end of the table leaving just Mary and i sitting at the opposite end. :p

anyhow, gotta finish packing and goto work~~

i'm back in toronto again!!!~~

and this time i remember to change the timezone of the blog back to est! :p
and thx to my gf for letting me know that my imagestation account shows nothing. that's cuz i forgot to set the albums for general viewing! silly me.

i should be sleeping right now but maybe due to jetlag that i dont wanna sleep yet.

today coming out of the airport was really ridculous. my grandpa on a wheelchair pushed by my grandma. and we have total of 12 items to carry:
6x checked baggages
1x walker (grandpa's)
1x walking stick (grandpa's)
4x carry-on bagges

all these above things equate to one incredibly silly looking person pushing two over-stacked luggage carts in the toronto airport with grandma pushing grandpa's wheelchair closely behind!~ :p

2003 was certainly one incredible year for me.

YEAR IN REVIEW
-committee member on two fellowships in 4b term (MYF & mCCF) in addition to full course load (3x TEs + 2x CSEs + FYDP)

-2 mental/physical breakdowns in 4b term due the point above

-apr/22-23, farewell dinner+tea for Claire which last until 2am of the 22nd. went home and start packing until 4am, wrote a long letter to Mary until 6am. took care of some unfinished business in UW before lunch with Peter and Genuine. then Peter dropped me off at the airport for me to pick up a rental car. back to waterloo to pick up Claire to drive her to airport. spent the night at uncle's place. morning of 23rd got together with Sharon and had breakfast with her, visit Peter, dropped Sharon home, back to waterloo to pick up luggage. had lunch with Jim and Steve, took some pictures with Charley and his gf, helped Steve move some luggages, then pick up Martin and off we go to the airport to fly back to vancouver (crazy day #n*+1)

-apr/24, 2nd day after supposed back to vancouver permanently, received a phone call from telusmob in scarborough for interview (1 hour after attending amy.p's violin recital). off i go back to ontario a week later

-didnt get the job. but still had a great time in ontario ---> MYF retreat + convocation + plus spending more time and get to know Mary better (before we're together)!!

-back to vancouver again on jul/08, supposily permanently stay again

-phone call on aug/13 which consequently lead to me back to ontario again on sept/01 for second interview

-made a crazy decision to goto london for a one-day trip to visit ingrid.y and catherine.t (crazy day #n+2)

-Alcatel acceptance letter on sept/17, followed by me driving around gta for the entire day to submit the acceptance letter and apply for ohip

-oct/05, asked Mary to be my gf

-oct/08, first business trip.....to las vegas

-nov/05, back from business trip in the morning. Mary surprised me at the airport (6 in the morning)!! went home to sleep for 5-6 hours then back to work again. 7pm to cts-east for the second weekend of the n.t. foundation course. another super crazy day (#n+3)........

-nov/16, 2nd business trip to las vegas

-dec/12, back to toronto again

-dec/14, attended Daisy's wedding banquet with Mary, Paul, and uncle Andy's famliy

-dec/20 drive to waterloo in the morning, then come back to toronto with Mary to drive Qing to greyhound station and then to pick up Mary's aunt at the airport, then had dumplings for dinner, attended xmas event at smac, to visit Peter's family follow by visit to Sharon. left toronto at around 1am (yet another one :p --- #n+4)

-dec/24 to waterloo to spend more time with Mary and also for the xmas celebration at kwcac at night

-dec/25, left waterloo at around 11am to catch the 3.30pm flight to vancouver (final crazy day of the year --- #n+5)

*i lost count of how many crazy days, n, that i had in 4b term
