having faith....
i'm starting to find 'having faith' harder and harder to do. when we have faith in God, does it mean that we have faith in everything around us? or that's two different kinds of faith. to me, i am 100% certain that having faith in everything around us is a subset of having faith in God. meaning, a person can only claim to have faith in God if he/she has complete faith in everything around him/her.
for example, several things in my life that happened recently is directly related to "faith". ever since my car accident in late january, i found that i have completely lost faith in other drivers. everytime i change lane, i would shoulder-check at least two times. when i'm driving in my own lane, i'd fear that the car in the next lane would suddenly steer into me (that's how i got into the accident). i'm sure that if i have complete faith in God, i would not have so little faith in other drivers.....
second example, my cubicle move in the office. initially i was in cube #1, then the entire group move to a new location and i was assigned cube #2. soon after i move to cube #2, i found out from a coworker and the admin person that they had later made the change and put me in cube #3 instead. so i complained because i've moved to cube #2 already, and also that i was not informed. then the admin person said that she had sent out the notification and the email, claiming that i deleted the email by accident. so this morning, i move from cube #2 to cube #3, and found out that the admin never sent out that notification, and i was without internet and phone for the entire day. plus, since i found that out at 4pm, the admin had already gone home, so i'm certain that i'll be without internet and phone for another day on monday.....
third thing, i bought a new suit on tuesday night from the bay. the reason i bought it from the bay is because the lady promised me that they'll have the alteration done by friday (because i need the suit this weekend). it's just a simple alteration, just sewing the pant bottom. yet today i went to pick it up at 6pm, the person said that it hasn't came in yet, and he told me that the suit will come in at 8pm. so i trusted him (usually i would tell him to call the alteration company to confirm it) and went home...came back at 8pm, he told me that few suits came in. then he went in the backroom to check, he could not find my suit. so he called the company that does the alteration, they're off already so i can only find out tomorrow morning on which part they screwed up and whether or not i'll get my suit tomorrow.....

though i should be sleeping right now, but a lot of things are troubling me recently.
this morning i saw a major car accident right in front of my eyes (<50m away). it's almost identical to the accident that i had 3 months ago - a car got hit at the passenger side by a car going at full speed. a lot of things were going through my mind, yet i ended up doing the wrong thing. i should have park my car aside and at least see if everyone's okay from the accident and be a witness to the accident when the police is here. but i drove off without even stopping my car.
and at tonight's fellowship, we found out that someone in the fellowship went to the emergency room this morning and had an emergency operation on her stomach... from the latest news we heard, she's doing okay now.
this morning i moved to my new cubicle. however, it's at noon time that i found out that i moved one week early and to the wrong cubicle. the administration person had forgotten to send out the email on the revise schedule for my move. next week is going to be complicated because i either have to move everything back to my old cubicle, or i share the cubicle with another person for one week before i move to my actual cube.
further, i'm going to work tomorrow morning. there's some mysterious critical problem happening in las vegas. during today's critical issues meeting, i volunteered to begin the investigation on this problem though we've already know that the problem is definitely not caused by my group's system. the reason why i volunteered to lead the investigation is partially because i have some knowledge in all systems, but mainly because i have nothing better to do tomorrow.
i've also asked my uncle to take me to see some condos near his house tomorrow afternoon. and again since i dont have anything planned in the weekend, might as well start looking at condos. at night we'll celebrate grandma's birthday.
sunday afternoon my church will have a baptismal service at scac. so far dont have anything planned after the baptismal service. but since i'm not a workoholic (at least i dont think i am), i think i'll probably head back to my uncle's place and hopefully there'll be a nba playoff game on tv. and i guess that'll be it for my boring weekend.
one other issue is troubling my mind, and it's the one that occupies my thoughts most of the time now. it's something between me and God, and i wish God can give me the answer soon because i've been feeling really really tired as of late. i feel as though the only thing that's keeping me going is God, though it should be a combination of God and at least one other thing. it feels as though right now i'm just waiting for the "go ahead" from God to give up.............. very very confused right now....

oh man!
my business trip got extended AGAIN (not surprise to hear that eh?)
had some problem with the hotel arrangement, but it's finally sorted out this morning.
a coworker get to stay at the luxor tonight because there's no more single room in candlewood...jealous...:p
and i went to california (death valley) yesterday after work and lunch with coworkers. the drive there was amazing, very scenic and lots of turns to force you to stay awake! unfortunately i didnt have the time to see some of the things that i want to see. it is such a great place to camp and spend several days there.
just finished reading the book of Hosea. it's a very interesting book and talked about many historic events that happened to the Isrealites. though i would have enjoy the book more if i'm more familiar with O.T. and if i know the history better.
gotta jet, lots of data analysis to do, and also have to go on the train to troubleshoot a problem with another group's system.

i'm in vegas again, this time the stay will just be one week long. and this will also be like a vacation because my main purpose of being on-site is for standby site support. no more major problem for me to fix in las vegas. the rental car that i have this time is a malibu. the rental company gave me three choices, but i've driven all three before: alero (had it as rental before), grand am (danny's car and rental), or malibu (gf's car). but i decide on getting the malibu because i think it'd be special to drive the same car as my gf at the same time as her!!~
one a side note, something quite interesting happened in las vegas yesterday. there's a blackout at bellagio, and i think it's still without power at the moment for 30+ hours already.
and oh! i just uploaded the pictures from the past weekend (http://www.imagestation.com/members/awy2lee):
- roger's baptism
- visit to a senior's neighborhood with mary
- indian lunch with some mccf people
- lunch at king tin with myf people for roger's baptismal celebration

going to vegas again next week. but this time (and the two following times) will only be short trips. since i'm the team lead for the las vegas project, i have to be the main site support person for the project. next thursday the project will be going into driverless simulated operation again, and the project manager requested my presence in case of any problem. next following trip would be around may 6th for the trial run. and the final trip will be in mid-june for the revenue service. all three trips i just have to be present on-site for 3-4 days. if everything runs well, then i can come back to toronto to work on the hongkong and korea projects.
gf's online now....that's it for blogging today~ :p

it's the beginning of another weekend!!!
this week in review:
sunday, march28
went to CEACT for the first time in over 6 weeks. initially i was going to arrive at church early to help out with the service setup; however, i had weird stomachaches throughout the weekend which prevented me from getting to church early. nonetheless, i still arrived church in time for the service.
went home after church to sort out some work issues. then had dinner at "bamboo bridge" with some waterloo classmates (gary.c, tony.l, tony.l's friend, kenneth.m, sammi, teddy.t, and peter.h). haven't seen most of them for over 6 months already...
monday, march29
nothing spectacular happened at work aside for data analysis on the las vegas project and the system integration for penny's bay (hongkong project), and things are pretty usual at home
tuesday, march30
more vegas analysis and hongkong integration. left work just in time for me to catch the 1900 showing of "The Passion of the Christ" at amc30 on hwy7.
-from Christian point-of-view, i think this is a pretty good movie. it's a very good reminder for Christians how/why Jesus died for us, and how much pain He bear for our sins.
-from movie-goer point-of-view, i didnt think this movie's that well made. big contrast to the other movie that mel gibson directed -- braveheart. have i mention that this movie has no plot? no character growth?...
-from non-believer point-of-view, i think this is a horrible movie. there's so much gore and brutality, which seem like the only thing that happened in the entire movie. potentially cause anti-sematic things to happen due to non-believers not knowing the Bible well enough to appreciate the movie.
wednesday, march31
loads of hongkong integration stuff...ended up working until 8pm and not in time to attend the mississauga mccf >.<. ate dinner by myself at hwy7/bayview.
thursday, april1
joseph briefed me on the hongkong survey status and requested my help on the survey analysis and survey report. all due by the end of the month. it'd required 300+ hours and the report would definitely be more than 50 pages including appendices.
successfully setup/configure the system for the hongkong integration test. this involved defining ip addresses and subnet masks for all devices in the ssytem, programming the security devices, configuring hirschmann switches, alvarion sa/ap radios,...
friday, april2
just realized the success from thursday's setup made me one of the first in the company on several things...
-i became one of the first people to know how to set up the security device.
-i became the first person to successfully assemble a complete dcs system in house.
-i became one of the few people in the company who knows how to use smartbits.
though this may seem like bragging, but i see this as a God-given opportunity for me to excel in the company and be a good Christian testimony in the company. i am so very glad that even though the overloaded work and business trips that i had, i can still live an abundant Christian life (mostly thank to my girlfriend) as well as letting all my coworkers know that i am a dedicated Christian with good work ethics!!
last but not least, every single day of week, there are two things in common. one is some time to chat with my girlfriend, where we chat about movie, day-to-day interesting events, our future, and discuss about Christianity! Second thing is daily devotion. Just started reading the book of Hosea after spending the last month reading Thessalonians and Corinthians.
