it's pretty interesting that peter and i were just chatting about it on sunday, and now it actually happened.

oh btw, i am still in toronto! :p still do not have any plan on business trip yet. the last business trip of any sort that my department (excluding my manager) had was my supervisor's trip to las vegas for the grand opening of the monorail system.

i will be picking up my new car in a day or two! pretty excited about it! haven't driven a japanese car for a long time ! :p

this is quite a rare occasion, i dont have many things to do at work.

the las vegas monorail project had been suspended indefinitely (probably for at least two more weeks). i just completed a test report for the korea project and there is nothing urgent for me to do.

the past two days are probably the shortest consecutive workdays that i have in a long time. yesterday arrived at company at close to 10.00am and left at 5.30pm. today arrive at 9.40am and left at 6.00pm.

and now i am bored, i think i'll just go to bed early again! :p

hmm...work had been quite interesting lately. fortunately my supervisor came back to work in the office full time again this week, so that i can spend the entire week to work on a report for a lab testing that i did in the past three weeks. we got a bunch of radios (rf transceivers) to test for our train control system, and i have to write a test report for the radio evaluation.

i spent most of today helping my supervisor on calculating the workload of every one in the group until end of the year using ms projects. not surprised to find that my workload for the next 4 weeks will require 14 hours overtime per week. further, the other interesting aspect for today is helping my manager in "translating" a few terms from english to chinese this afternoon. my manager will be going to shanghai next week to do a three-day presentation.

btw, i just bought a 2005 honda accord today after work. this purchase will cost 2/3rd of my savings since last october and almost half of my remaining bank balance will go towards the car insurance >.<.

- i am not in las vegas
- change my business travel plans last minute
- i am in toronto
- i dont know when i will go to las vegas because something else fell off the monorail today
- monorail shut down again
- i have to change my plane ticket, hotel, and car rental again

still questionable as to whether i am going to vegas on tuesday or not. as for the reason why, run a search on news.google.com for "las vegas monorail", and btw that's not the reason for me going there. i have some unrelated testing to do, but the news will delay my testing indefinitely. however, the project manager told me that everything will be ready by the time i get it....

well, nothing new in my life....still no car and no house.

btw, sharon.t is back in toronto. not accustomed to seeing her with straight hair~ ^.^ and she is still as talkative as ever.

nothing much happening to me recently, except that today is the third time in one week that i killed a bug in my bedroom or bathroom:

friday (08/27) night:
- a loonie-size spider crawled onto my right arm while i was sitting in my bedroom, i shook it off and killed it with my slipper, then flushed the corpse down the toilet

monday (08/30) morning:
- a full grown brown grasshopper was sighted in my washroom. crushed it with a small garbage can and flushed the corpse down the toilet

wednesday (09/01) night:
- spotted a moth in the washroom. injured it with a mop, and then flushed it down the toilet

the next time i encounter a bug in my living quarters, first i'll take a picture, THEN i make the kill~ :p

me going to vegas again next tuesday. this time my flight will be connecting through denver! woohoo, another city that i haven't been to!
